Implant Components
- Implants consist of 3 basic components. Fixture, Abutment, and Implant Supported Crown (ISC).
Osseointegration
- After the surgical placement of the fixture, bone forms and heals around the implant fixture. This process is termed osseointegration and takes roughly 4-6 months to fully complete. Afterwards, the fixture can be loaded with an abutment and ISC.

Implant Placement Process
appointment 1 – fixture placement then wait 4 to 6 months for osseointegration to fully complete
appointment 2 – uncover implant and place healing abutment for soft tissue healing and wait 2 weeks
appointment 3 – scan or take impression of implant abutment and send to dental lab for implant crown fabrication and wait 3 weeks
appointment 4 – place screw retained or cement retained crown onto implant abutment and implant fixture
